Follies and Chorus Girls!

I find these images so glamourous and entrancing! 

Can you imagine the spectacle of the Folies Bergère in Paris in the 1920's or the Ziegfeld Follies in America? 

When I come across vintage photos of follies and chorus girls I'm blown away by the lavish costumes and intricate detailing. My desire to time travel increases ten fold as I dream of visiting such a heady show from by-gone times.

I'd like to start my trip in Paris about 1924 and work my way to Vegas in the 1960's!!!

I expect I'll be waiting quite a while for the time travel thing to happen and once it does I'll be too busy saving the world to do anything as indulgent as attend a few shows. So I'll just have to make do with these glorious photos!!!

Oh, and I'd just like to point out that all of these costumes would have been handmade... Who made them? How long did it take? How many sparkles did they have to attach??? Whoever you were, I salute your mammoth task in creating such beautiful stage attire.

Coveting Vintage Necklines!

When did our necklines become so boring? 

The Highstreet can't possibly compete with these beautiful necklines as mass production just doesn't allow the time and precision necessary to create such beautiful seams and detailing. 

If you are hunting for a dress that has an unusual neckline then you have a few options: 

Designer dresses, bespoke dresses or vintage dresses (my fav obv's!)

Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses!

Many of us (myself included) like to have a bit of cover for the tops of our arms and this doesn't change when it comes to The Dress on the big day. We've seen requests for wedding dresses with sleeves grow each year. Thankfully this is one trend that's here to stay.

I think there's something incredibly elegant and alluring about wedding dresses that are less revealing. Gone are the days when we have to have everything on show to up the glamour stakes.

Beautifully tailored wedding dresses mean you can have it all... coverage and hotness (yip we still want to look hot on our wedding day!). 

Vintage wedding dresses often have lace, sheer or detailed sleeves and are the original trend setters. If you'd prefer to bare a little bit of skin then consider having your vintage dress made backless. BOOM... now you have it all!
