Real Bride: Sinead, Glowing in Gatsby Glamour

Sinead came to us to find the perfect headpiece to match her gorgeous silk wedding gown. It had such an Old Hollywood vintage feel that we new we'd have some incredible options for her.
Sinead chose a Gatsby style, crystal headpiece that worked beautifully with her bobbed hairstyle.
Their photographer Olga Hogan captured the most wonderful shots throughout the day in the stunning surroundings of Martinstown House (just look at that jaw dropping ceremony setting!).

Congratulations to Sinead and her new hubby.
Sending you big love from Dirty Fabulous!

Veils: Will You Be Wearing One?

If you're toying with the idea of wearing a veil but can't decide whether it's too "bridal" or not really you, then I'd recommend giving it a whirl!
If you are in two minds at all, then at least try a few different styles on. I've yet to meet a bride who regretted wearing a veil on her big day. I didn't wear one when I got married, and looking back, I wish I'd taken the plunge as there's really no other occasion to rock a gorgeous tulle veil!
That's not to say a veil is for everyone. If even the thoughts of trying one gives you the shivers or its too out-there for your personal style then avoid at all costs, and don't let someone else talk you into wearing one! Stay true to yourself and what you want.
So, for any of you undecided brides looking for inspiration, here are a collection of real wedding photos with a range of beautiful veils along with new and vintage veils from the Dirty Fabulous bridal collection.
Once you've decided yes, then comes the fun part: What length? Elaborate or simple? Vintage or new? Better try them all.... Enjoy!!!

Eerie Vintage Headwear!!!

It's Halloween season! Most of us will get into the spooky spirit of things at some stage. Whether it's going out in full costume for a major party, carving a pumpkin or answering the door to the hoards of candy crazed mini zombies!
Either way it's hard to escape Halloween as it's popularity grows each year.
I came across these unusual and quite freaky vintage images on Pinterest and what better time of the year to show them than the run up to the big Witching Hour itself!
The first few images have definitely been photo-shopped, I'm not sure about the cat one but they're so bizarre I had to share!
The last image is an actual hat from the 1940's.

Film Fatale Presents - Iche Liebe Dich

The highlight for any vintage loving maven has to be a Film Fatale event. They are totally immersive and dripping with fabulousness!
Themed attire is essential which really adds to the authentic feel from these nights. Even for those not into vintage, Film Fatale events are completely rocking on an epic scale. You don't need to live and breath the world of vintage to revel in a Jay Gatsby style party!!!

This weekend as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival, Film Fatale presents Iche Liebe Dich in the Spiegeltent.
Don your suspenders, fishnets and bowler hats...It sounds like Saturday 24th is going to be one helluva night:

Journey back to 1930s Berlin for cabaret in the truest sense of the word – tongue-in-cheek, provocative, hilarious and pure entertainment. Brought to you by Film Fatale, Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret! is everything we love about cabaret with an added postmodern twist.

Travel back in time to the heyday of the Spiegeltent and the Berlin cabaret scene for an evening of classic cabaret, aerial dancing, traditional and avant garde burlesque and dance ensembles set to a soundtrack of hot jazz, cabaret solos and modern-era songs with a bygone-era twist. Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret! will be a decadent celebration of 1930s Berlin — the hedonistic era of dark glamour.

Holiday Wardrobe Inspiration: Vintage Style!

Yay! We're on our holidays!
We're into the last stretch of summer now and hopefully you've managed to squeeze in a leisurely holiday or a staycation at the very least!
It was tough this year hunting out swimwear that I love, but I managed to find a few vintage style pieces. What I really wanted was something as glam, unusual and modest as some of these original vintage summer looks:

These swimsuits are so daring for the 1920's.

1940's floral shorts and crop top

Aren't these totally outrageous for the 1950's!!!

1969 Bert Stern white ruffle swimsuit

 LOVE THIS!!!
