Happy St Patrick's Day - we're proud to be Irish!

It's time to pull out ALL the green from your wardrobe!

St. Patrick's Day is a time for family fun, maybe a parade in the pouring rain, a hot whiskey and all the green, white and gold you can imagine!

Whether you spend the day in hiding or go the whole hog we have a long weekend to think about, and cherish our Irishness. We love our little country and the people in it so we'll be kicking up our heels with the kids and most likely dressing like an Irish flag!

Maybe we'll take some inspiration from these glamorous ladies of the 40's and 50's , or maybe we'll look like bedazzled shamrocks...you'll have to wait and see!!!

Magpie Issue 3: New York State of Mind

We were pleased as punch when one of our sparkling vintage dresses got to go on a little holiday to New York!

This incredible vintage Lillie Rubin dress is dazzling beyond belief. We like to think it had a right ol' party when it was on shoot with stylist Courtney Smith and photographer Alex Hutchinson!

To Dior or not to Dior, that is the question.....

While researching for another post I came across this image and thought that it looked very familiar -

This is an Yves Saint Laurent for Dior 1958 cocktail dress.

It was listed as having perspiration stains, fabric splitting and, brooch pin marks.

It sold last month through KerryTaylor auctions for £3,400.

(That's €4230!)

Bridesmaids ? Debs? Or do you just want to look fabulous?!!

We have had a number of requests recently from girls looking for bridesmaids dresses and how to style them. If you are already thinking about going vintage for your bridesmaids then you are a fabulous bride to begin with! It's always lovely to see bridesmaids dressed for their own shape and style as opposed to putting the same dress on a group of girls who are very different in shape and size, height and age.
Bridesmaids don't have to be in identical dresses to look complimentary, you can tie the look together by fabric, colour and tailoring of a dress and still stay true to the girls' individual style.
