Refined Elegance

We're loving Donna's bridal look. It's elegant yet totally true to her individual style. Donna came to Dirty Fabulous looking for the perfect headpiece for her 1930's style, ivory silk wedding gown.  We created a bespoke headpiece with soft tulle and rhinestone crystals and added a bird cage veil for a touch of drama.
Sublime! Oh and her bright blue flowers were dazzling!
Congratulations Donna.

Here Come The Girls....

This is a little post to introduce some of the fabulous ladies that I interact with on a regular (sometimes daily!) basis in the course of my working day here in Dirty Fabulous.
I recommend these gems for their professional nature and their wonderful selves.

Veronika of Grafton Dry Cleaners

Alexa of A.Rubenesque

Violetta of Fitz Alterations.

Caoimhe of Murphy Sheehy

All of the above businesses are our neighbours here in the creative quarter, there are some really lovely folks in our vicinity, more of that in a later post!

Happy Christmas to all of our neighbours!

Amy Huberman wearing Dirty Fabulous for Newbridge Christmas collection

Doesn't Amy look incredible wearing a vintage, Dirty Fabulous, red satin party dress in Newbridge's current Christmas campaign.
She could have stepped right out of an old Hollywood movie!

A Bride Unveiled

It gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when our brides send us photos and we get to see how they looked wearing their Dirty Fabulous pieces.
When these images arrived from Aisling we were positively glowing! She looked drop dead gorgeous!!!
For her wedding, Aisling chose a 1950's style ivory satin, tea length wedding dress, double tiered veil and beautiful crystal headpiece.
The whole look is breathtaking and we hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as we did.
Congratulations Aisling on your recent wedding!

Golden Hues

When Eimear came to us a week before her wedding she had yet to find the ideal headpiece for her impending big day. Dirty Fabulous was delighted to help out and together we chose a bespoke gold and ivory toned beaded comb. We topped it off with a golden birdcage veil which was a striking colour against her dark hair.
Didn't she look marvelous!

Congratulations to you both!

Vintage Lace Cape, What an On-Trend Vintage Bride!!!

Capes are so in vogue at the minute and rightly so! They add a dash of drama to any look and isn't a wedding dress the most special of them all?
Even though capes are taking their inspiration from current catwalks they can be found in fashion throughout the decades. Caroline and I both have several vintage party dresses with capes attached that we adore. If I was getting married again I think I'd demand a cape! Need convincing?
Just look at how incredible Suzie looked in her ivory vintage lace gown with attached cape, chosen from Dirty Fabulous. We added a bespoke rhinestone and satin belt to nip in the empire waist. Suzie's soft, plaited up-do with floral wreath and natural make-up were the cherry on top! Totally amazing right?
Suzie told us that people on the street were stopping her to ask her where she got it... oh how we love to hear that!!!

Congratulations to Suzie and her new hubby!

New York, New York at Christmas!

This post is really just an excuse to show you all the Christmas goodness in New York that we came across...

Fifth Avenue

The home of Miracle on 34th Street. Macy's is a Christmas wonderland, just imagine that scene in Elf when Buddy has created a Christmas explosion in the store. Every tree in Macy's had a different theme from traditional, Nordic, toys, nautical and candy. There was even a wine lovers tree, who'd have thought it!!!

One could believe that Caroline planned her outfit to coordinate with guy!
Macy's have these gorgeous Art Deco, wooden escalators still in operation on several floors. They make a thoroughly satisfying clacking noise as you travel upwards!

We normally visit New York earlier in the year so we were determined to see some big department store windows. One of the best was Lord and Taylor. The windows were super elaborate and had a lot of stunning features including lots of movement and little surprises. Sorry about all the glare on the photos but you get the picture!

One of the top, store windows on my list was Saks Fifth Avenue. It's such an iconic store and several of our most beautiful dresses from the 1940's, 50's and 60's have hailed from Sak's. Unfortunately they were keeping their displays under wraps until after Thanksgiving,,,ah boo!
Since we returned, Fashionista.com shared a post with all the New York holiday windows. Pop over to have a look, you'll see some stunning works of art in there.

This looked awesome but we just didn't have the time to go...next time!

A trip to New York is not complete without visiting Anthropologie. It's a feast for the eyes and a great place to catch a nap after a hard days travelling (you can't really sleep there, get off that bed Caroline!!!)

New Yorkness...

Phew...we're finished showing you the highlights of our trip. So what about all the new fabulous stock we sourced? Well we're still photographing and sorting it out but stay tuned and the next few post you'll see will be full of vintage delights!
