Coloured Wedding Dresses - The Bright New Trend!

I have to admit, this is one bridal trend that has me really excited!
When I see someone doing something different at a wedding I can usually be heard letting out an audible squeal of delight. There's nothing worse when every wedding begins to blend into the next, serial wedding attendees will have felt this the most!

Even though our nearest and dearest are in attendance, we're all loved-up to the eyeballs and the fun just doesn't stop, when you look back at a wedding and try to pick out some defining features it's often hard to distinguish one wedding from another...
That is unless the bride and groom completely dance to their own tune and break all (or some) of the wedding day rules!!!

One guaranteed way to do this is to wear something unexpected, interesting or even daring! If I was to get married again, this is one trend I'd be following. Luckily vintage gowns come in array of beautiful colours so my only conundrum would be what shade to wear???
They all look FABULOUS!!!

Luscious Lace!

Oh WOW!
There's something infinitely regal and majestic about these images. They ooze aristocratic splendour reminiscent of a period drama.
War and Peace? Downton Abbey? Mr. Selfridges? Definitely a Stately home of some description. The bride looks so wistfully romantic as she tends to her lace embellished, tiered wedding cake... sigh....I wonder what she's thinking...

The shoot was organised by Jen from Cupcakes and Counting and I think the images are marvelous!

Our Bride Charlotte - Irish Tatler Best Dressed Finalist!

Can you imagine our excitement when we found out that our great friend and Dirty Fabulous bride, Charlotte was a finalist in Tatler's best dressed brides.
She knew she wanted a bridal look that was sophisticated and which echoed the vintage elegance of the 1930's. Charlotte also knew she wanted a dress with a dramatic back and luscious sweeping gown.

With this in mind we sourced the silk bias cut, vintage wedding gown with sheer lace back specifically for Charlotte, so it was amazing to see her wear it on the big day.
Her birdcage veil and headpiece were made by us to complete the look and we added the vintage fan so she could keep cool in the heat of a French summer!

We're proud as punch that our gorgeous gal's bridal look was so loved by others!

David Bowie an Icon to Remember

It's inevitable as time passes that we lose people who have featured in our lives. Whether these are people who are dear to us or those who's lives we've been lucky enough to witness without ever having met, it is always sad. Despite knowing that we can't hold back the hands of time we're inevitably shocked when someone dies. We feel the loss of something we never knew we had to lose.
Rightfully, David Bowie was always considered a ground breaking artist and an icon. He'll remain a legend in the music and fashion world forever.
Rest in peace Mr. Bowie.
Our love and respect are with your family, friends and fans.
