A Little Reminder, Closed Tomorrow 3rd December
Don't forget ladies, we'll be closed tomorrow for our brother Adrian's wedding. Yay! We're super excited the weekend has finally arrived and we can celebrate with Adrian and Natalie on their big day.

1940s Bridal Glamour
Check out the fabulous Breda in her beautiful rayon and rhinestone 1940s gown and bespoke headpiece from Dirty fabulous. A huge congratulations to Breda, I'm sure you'll all agree she looked stunning and definitely had that bridal glow! We love it when a bride goes her own way and totally rocks the look. Congrats again Breda, here's to many happily married years ahead.

Christmas Holidays
Dirty Fabulous will be closing on Wednesday the 21st of December at 3pm for our long winter's nap, well there may be a spot of merriment along the way! We will be back in full vintage mode on Tuesday the 3rd of January. Just a little note, our Saturday's in January are beginning to fill up so do give us a call if you think you may like some vintage shopping to beat the post Christmas blues!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year...
Yay! Yippee and a festive Wuhoo! It's officially Christmas which means that us Dirty Fabulous ladies no longer have to hide our love of all the things Christmasy. We've got our tree up, Dean and Perry are crooning from the iPod and our outfits are working up to full-on Geansai Nollaig chic. Kathy and Baby Ruben joined us for the merriment, and it was Eggnog Latte's all round. Yum yum!

The DIVA's Are In The Building!
Well, well,well! What a night we had last Thursday when
Ayelet Lalor's DIVA exhibition was launched in Dirty Fabulous. There were bubbles flowing, art enthusiasts, fashionistas, photographers and generally stylish folk milling around the boutique admiring the DIVA's in their new home.
The very lovely Dr. Helen McAllister head of Fashion and Textiles, NCAD, was on hand to open the exhibition.
All of the sculptures look super chic amid all the Dirty Fabulous glitz and glamour, it's great to see the finished DIVA's along side the dresses that inspired them! Some have sold already so if you fancy taking a look give us a bell to arrange an appointment. Don't fret if your favourite piece has sold already, Ayelet has lots more sculptures and is available for commissions also.
You can also pop out to the RDS for the National Crafts and Design Fair 2011 where Ayelet is showing more of her work.

Throwing a Vintage Party for the festive season!
Truman Capote's Black and White Ball
It was THE party of the century and was held in New York's Plaza Hotel with only 540 elite guests invited. Capote chose only the most powerful Hollywood stars, musicians, artists, politicians and socialites to grace his party and invites were rarer than pixie dust!
I love the glamour that a vintage party calls for, although you don't have to go as crazy as Capote!
The best way to plan your vintage party is to pick a theme. It could be:
- 1930s Old Hollywood
- The Roaring Twenties
- Midnight Garden Party
- Mad Men
- The Atomic Era
- Psychedelic 60's
- 1940's Sailors and Songstresses
- Casablanca
- White Christmas

Next do a bit of research on the types of cocktails, drinks and food served during your chosen era.
You could end up serving Martinis and canapes, cucumber sandwiches and jelly made in old fashioned moulds, eggnog and roast chestnuts or neat whiskey and olives!
Look up interior images of the time to get inspiration on how to dress the room for the party. You don't have to go to huge expense, improvise. If you need any props or embellishment trawl the Internet and charity shops. You could pick up some vintage china and glasses, fill a room completely with
white balloons or simply light oodles of tea-lights and fairy lights. All of these touches will add to the atmosphere.
Finally plan your outfit, have fun with it and really go all out as your dress will set the theme for the whole party. As I always say "More is More!". If you are sending out invites make sure you encourage your guests to dress for the occasion and give them pointers on were to look for inspiration.
