Eerie Vintage Headwear!!!

It's Halloween season! Most of us will get into the spooky spirit of things at some stage. Whether it's going out in full costume for a major party, carving a pumpkin or answering the door to the hoards of candy crazed mini zombies!
Either way it's hard to escape Halloween as it's popularity grows each year.
I came across these unusual and quite freaky vintage images on Pinterest and what better time of the year to show them than the run up to the big Witching Hour itself!
The first few images have definitely been photo-shopped, I'm not sure about the cat one but they're so bizarre I had to share!
The last image is an actual hat from the 1940's.

Film Fatale Presents - Iche Liebe Dich

The highlight for any vintage loving maven has to be a Film Fatale event. They are totally immersive and dripping with fabulousness!
Themed attire is essential which really adds to the authentic feel from these nights. Even for those not into vintage, Film Fatale events are completely rocking on an epic scale. You don't need to live and breath the world of vintage to revel in a Jay Gatsby style party!!!

This weekend as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival, Film Fatale presents Iche Liebe Dich in the Spiegeltent.
Don your suspenders, fishnets and bowler hats...It sounds like Saturday 24th is going to be one helluva night:

Journey back to 1930s Berlin for cabaret in the truest sense of the word – tongue-in-cheek, provocative, hilarious and pure entertainment. Brought to you by Film Fatale, Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret! is everything we love about cabaret with an added postmodern twist.

Travel back in time to the heyday of the Spiegeltent and the Berlin cabaret scene for an evening of classic cabaret, aerial dancing, traditional and avant garde burlesque and dance ensembles set to a soundtrack of hot jazz, cabaret solos and modern-era songs with a bygone-era twist. Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret! will be a decadent celebration of 1930s Berlin — the hedonistic era of dark glamour.

How To Rock A 1920's Look!

The 1920's were an era were everything became just a smidge looser... clothing, under garments, morals and the definition of a woman's role in society.
Most people have a quite a good sense of what the fashion was like in this decade. Thanks largely to Baz Luhrmann's 2013 movie The Great Gatsby. We've also seen a slew of designers influenced by the 20's and the Art Deco period.
So how does it translate to our fashion today?
Firstly lets take a look at a few key components of the 1920's style from these original vintage images:

Feathers
Ok, so most of us won't be wearing feathers as we go about our daily chores but don't overlook the hugely glamourous impact they can add to occasion wear. A feather trim on a skirt or crop top can be the perfect addition for the WOW factor.

Layers:
Layers and lots of them! 1920's ladies were the original Bohemian babes. Think loose tunics, drop waists, scarfs, beads and shawls. This is quite an easy look to adapt today as most of us will layer up in some way or another.

Accessories:
Hats, gloves and fur. Thanks goodness it's autumn so we can all start rocking this! The high street has lots of faux fur offerings or try some original vintage pieces.

The Little Details:
Embroidery, lace and bead work. It's all in the detail!
