Spotlight on Vintage: Vendome Tassle Brooch

This has to be one of the more unusual brooches we've ever had. The shape and colouring make it super unique and wait until you see this baby's sparkle in person... it's dazzling!

It's quite a big piece at 60mm wide with a 64mm drop and would look stunning on a dress, scarf or jumper. It's a real statememt piece.

The Vendome label was a branch of the well known vintage jewellery brand; Coro. It was in use from 1944 to 1977 and marked a superior and more luxurious collection of jewels.
Vendome used the best European rhinestones and faceted crytals, intricate workmanship and creative designs to produce high quality and highly sought pieces.
The Vendome label continues to grown in popularity among vintage collectors who appreciate the artistic beauty of this label.

1950's advert for Vendome
This advert reads:
"Vendome...the jewelry with such a magnificent play of colour, it rivals the rich opulent look of centuries gone by. Vendome... with thousands of lights that could really be emeralds, sapphire, topaz, pearl, Vendome... so beautiful it might have been handset by master jewelers in precious stones. Vendome... the fire, the sparkle, beautifully blended stones that bow to the elegance of fashion today. Vendome, the costume jewelry that is creating a place for itself far out of the ordinary, completely into the limelight"
Wowzers... I'd have been hooked!
